Lifting Plan Review & Endorsement
What the Technical Authority/Responsible Person should ascertain when reviewing/endorsing lifting plans (list not exhaustive):
- identification of hazards have been risk assessed
- suitable control measures are in place
- lifting equipment is correctly rated and certified with all
- accessories and lift points visually checked
- availability of certified lifting points
- process to be followed when using uncertified lifting points
- trained and competent personnel to carry out the lifting operation
- de-rating of equipment/accessories (included angles etc)
- the load path has been selected and cleared of obstructions and/or conflicting operations
- the lay down area(s) are adequate in both size and load
- bearing capacity
- suitable materials available for protection of the load/equipment
- barriers are positioned and/or suitable warnings issued to prevent unauthorised access
- confirm the lay down area is within the operating range of the crane
- weather conditions and their effect on the safety of the lift have
- been taken into consideration
