Job description :
Our residential construction company needs an experienced Welder to join our team. We’re looking for a hardworking professional who enjoys meeting challenges and surpassing customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have a background in residential fittings and welds, from light fixtures to duct work, and will be willing to work on-site as well as in-house to complete jobs for customers on time and on budget. Some projects might require short-term traveling, such as one to two weeks, but we pay all travel expenses, including lodging and meals. We’re looking for a long-term candidate who is looking for a secure and rewarding form of employment.
Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform task at hand
- Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs
- Field install welds, including duct work, light fixtures, vents, fans, metal sheeting and other parts
- Select proper fillers for jobs based on previous experience or project instructions
- Coordinate with field labor crew for efficient installations
- Conserve resources whenever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction
- De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
Welder skills :
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- 2+ years’ experience operating as a commercial welder
- Current and valid certification a plus
- Experience working on construction sites and with power tools
- Knowledge of construction site best practices and safety procedures
